Hello again my lovelies, I hope all my wonderful book bitches are doing well. Before I begin with the review of the next chapter in the book we are doing together. I want to hear all about the latest book you have read. You can leave a comment, review, or anything in regard to the book. Let me know if it is something that needs a breakdown review of and I will totally do it. I am here for all the reads. It can be any genre and of any age range as well.
Now let's talk about the description in chapter 2. Wow! Just Wow! Like I am not the biggest fan on a lot of description in books when it comes to describing places. Like don't get me wrong, The Hobbit is one of my all-time favorite books but sometimes the description got away from me a little bit. Okay now time to put my ADHD back into place and talk about this next chapter.
Not only the description of the setting is spot on in the worldbuilding expertise. The description of the characters is actually amazing as well. So far all of these characters dress like they are always ready for a fancy party or are all possibly in a supernatural mafia. I feel like a supernatural mafia really fits the scene in all honesty. I mean who doesn't love men in suits along with girls in heels who can totally kick your ass. So far, I am loving this girl Dianna, (SPOILER!!!) she completely gave up her entire soul to save her dying sister. Like the irony here, you have to have a soul and heart so big to love someone so much that you give it up to save their life. Like I mentioned in my last review. Total Meg vibes.
Now we need to talk about this Kaden character. He gives off total, "bow down to me or I behead you" kind of vibes. I mean if he is a morally grey character, I would be all for it, but I haven't seen a soft side to him yet, not even to Dianna. I mean he did give her immortality and powers, but what all did that cost her? Now she is basically his henchperson who will do whatever he says no matter the cost. Even if she has to kill for him. She might feel for him in a way but not the way all morally grey men should be cared for. She totally feels like she owes him, but girl I hope you find out sooner than later that you don't owe that man/king nothing.
Overall rating: 3/5
Morally grey men: 4/5
Slight sexy scene: 3.5/5
Supernatural aspects: 5/5
Setting: 5/5
Until next time my badass book bitches.
